Terms & Conditions – Ibarra Moving Services
1. Services Provided
Ibarra Moving Services (“Company”) offers labor-only moving assistance. We do not provide moving trucks or transportation. Customers are responsible for supplying the truck, trailer, or storage container.
Our services include:
Loading & unloading
Packing & unpacking assistance
Furniture assembly & disassembly
In-home furniture moving (rearranging items within the home)
Heavy item moving (pianos, safes, appliances, treadmills, etc.)
2. Customer Responsibilities
Customer must provide a safe working environment, including clear walkways and adequate access for moving items.
Customer is responsible for ensuring that parking, building access, and elevator reservations are arranged in advance.
Customer is responsible for providing all necessary packing materials (boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc.) unless agreed otherwise
3. Payment & Deposits
Payment is due at the completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Hourly rates and minimum booking times apply (as outlined at time of booking).
Overtime will be billed in 30-minute increments.
A $50 deposit is required to secure all bookings. This deposit will be applied to the final bill.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Cancellations:
Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled start time are eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Failure of the Customer to be present at the service location at the agreed-upon time will also result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Rescheduling to a Different Day:
Customers may reschedule their booking with at least 24 hours’ notice without penalty.
The deposit will be applied to the rescheduled date.
Rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Changing the Time on the Same Day:
The Company will make every effort to accommodate requests to adjust the service time on the scheduled date, but changes are not guaranteed.
If the Company cannot accommodate the new time and the Customer cancels, the deposit will be forfeited.
5. Arrival Times
All arrival times are approximate.
The Company makes every effort to arrive at the scheduled time; however, moving jobs before yours may run longer than expected, which can cause delays.
Customers agree to allow for reasonable flexibility in arrival time due to circumstances beyond the Company’s control (traffic, weather, extended prior jobs, etc.).
6. Liability & Damages
While our movers handle items with care, Ibarra Moving Services is not responsible for:
Items that were improperly packed by the customer
Normal wear and tear, minor scratches, or damages to items with pre-existing defects
Damages caused by moving items through tight spaces (stairs, hallways, doorways) where clearance is limited
Customers must notify the Company of any concerns before movers leave the job site.
7. Heavy & Specialty Items
We move heavy items such as pianos, safes, and appliances at the customer’s risk. Proper equipment and preparation may be required, and additional fees may apply.
8. Furniture Assembly & Disassembly
The Company will assist with disassembling and reassembling furniture as requested.
The Company is not responsible for damages that occur during furniture assembly or disassembly, including damages resulting from defective or weak furniture, missing parts, or manufacturer design flaws.
The Company is not liable for items that cannot be reassembled due to improper instructions, missing hardware, or structural instability.
IKEA-style or pressboard furniture is especially fragile and is moved, assembled, or disassembled strictly at the customer’s risk.
9. No Insurance Coverage
Ibarra Moving Services does not currently provide insurance coverage for items being moved.
Customers are fully responsible for obtaining any additional coverage if desired.
By hiring Ibarra Moving Services, the customer acknowledges and accepts that the Company is not liable for loss or damage beyond what is stated in these Terms & Conditions.
10. Limitation of Liability
Ibarra Moving Services’ liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific service provided.
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
